How to distinguish CDI box with AC fired or CDI box with DC fired?
If headlights turn on without the engine running(with just the key on), it is a DC system. In the AC system, turning ?headlights on require the engine to be running. Another indication is, if the engine will only runs with a battery it is DC. If it will runs without a battery, it is a AC system.

What does the voltage regulator do?
This regulator has the task of converting the alternating voltage (AC) generated by the alternator into the direct voltage (DC) 12V used in the vehicle electrical system and keeping the voltage within a certain range.
The voltage regulator is also responsible for ensuring that the battery is charged and that the light bulbs do not burn out.

How do I know if the charge regulator can be defective?
- Incandescent lamps burn out all the time.
- Headlights get brighter and darker.
- The battery is constantly empty.

Does not work on described models or defective unit.

This item causes my lighting circuit to cycle on and off every few seconds after connecting without starting the bike. Bought an own replacement from ktm which resolved my original issue..They want me to pay shipping plus restocking on a defective unit in order to return…

1999 Suzuki df50 outboard

I purchased this to replace the voltage regulator on my Suzuki df50 which was over charging. This single pin wire on this one was too short, so I cut the one off my old regulator and soldered it on. Other then that it works perfect...14 volts! Im very pleased.
